    Red Food Coloring
  • Add dollops of white and red batter to the baking dish into an even layer. Our recipe developer did this in two layers. Chill for 2-3 hours and then cut.
  • Serve and enjoy your Candy Cane Fudge!

Notes

  • Go Bold with Peppermint: If you're a fan of strong peppermint flavor, don't hesitate to add a little extra peppermint extract. Just remember, a little goes a long way!
  • Top It Off: Before the fudge sets, sprinkle some extra crushed candy canes on top for added crunch and peppermint pizzazz.
  • Coloring: Feel free to adjust the amount of red food coloring to get the shade you desire. A deeper red looks stunning against the snowy white fudge.
  • Cutting Squares: For clean cuts, dip your knife in hot water and wipe it dry between slices. This helps you get those perfect squares without the fudge sticking to the knife.
  • Gift It: This fudge makes a fabulous gift. Pack it in a cute tin or a clear cellophane bag tied with a festive ribbon for a homemade holiday treat that anyone would be thrilled to receive.

Storage Instructions

  • Room Temperature: Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature. It will stay delicious and creamy for up to two weeks.
  • Fridge: If you prefer your fudge a bit firmer, you can also pop it in the refrigerator. Just make sure to wrap it well or keep it in a sealed container to prevent it from absorbing any fridge odors or drying out.
