How to Make Cinnamon Sugar Biscuit Bites

If you’re ready to create a batch of these scrumptious bites, I’ve got all the steps laid out for you:

Ingredients and Preparations

First things first, let’s get your oven heated to 350°F (180°C) and a baking sheet or baking dish lined with parchment paper. This setup will help ensure your biscuit bites don’t stick and turn out perfectly crispy.

Cutting the Dough

Take each biscuit and cut it into quarters. This size is ideal for bite-sized pieces that are perfect for dipping and snacking. Spread the biscuit dough pieces out in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet. They’ll need some room because they will puff up a bit in the oven.

Baking

Slide your baking sheet into the oven and let those biscuit pieces bake for 8-10 minutes. You’re looking for them just to be cooked through but not too browned yet—they’ll go back under the broiler later to finish off.

Coating with Cinnamon Sugar

While the biscuits are baking, mix your cinnamon powder and sugar in a small bowl. Also, melt your butter in another bowl.

Once the biscuits are done and cool enough to handle, dip each piece first in melted butter and then roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Make sure each piece is well coated.

Broiling to Perfection

Now for the final touch! Put your sugar-coated biscuits back on the baking sheet and broil them for 1-2 minutes. Keep a close eye on them—this is where they get that delicious, caramelized, golden brown top. But watch out, they can burn quickly!

Cooling Down

Once they’re perfectly caramelized, transfer your cinnamon sugar biscuit bites to a cooling rack. Give them a moment to cool off before you dig in. This will help the coating set and keep the texture just right.

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits
  • ½ cup salted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Cut each biscuit into quarters and place on baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes until just cooked through.
    1 can refrigerated biscuits
  • While the biscuits are baking, melt the butter in a small mixing bowl.
    ½ cup salted butter
  • Next, in another small bowl, stir together the cinnamon and sugar until well combined.
1 cup granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • Remove the biscuits from the oven after the allotted time. Allow to cool for 3-5 minutes so you can handle them safely.
  • Dip each biscuit into the butter mixture and then the cinnamon mixture. Setting back onto the baking sheet. Repeat this step for each biscuit bite. You want to ensure all sides are very well coated.
  • Place biscuits under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until the sugar has caramelized. Be sure to watch this step very closely so that you don’t burn the sugar.
  • Transfer the biscuits to a cooling rack and allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • Sugar: Feel free to experiment with the sugar mixture. Brown sugar can offer a deeper flavor, and maple sugar adds extra warmth.
  • Spice: Add a pinch of nutmeg, cardamon, or allspice to bring a nice warmth to the sugar mix. Adjust it to your taste as you mix.
  • Fresh is Best: These bites are best enjoyed fresh from the oven. They lose their delightful crispness if they sit out too long.

Storage Instructions

  • Room Temperature: Once the cinnamon bites have cooled completely, place the leftovers in an airtight container. You can keep them at room temperature for a couple of days, which makes them perfect for grabbing as a quick snack.
  • Reheat: If you want to keep them crispy, pop them back in the oven for a few minutes to warm up and rejuvenate that delightful crunch. This way, you can enjoy the sweet cinnamon goodness all over again!

I’ve learned a few tricks along the way to make these cinnamon sugar biscuit bites even more fabulous:

  • Sugar: Feel free to experiment with the sugar mixture. Brown sugar can offer a deeper flavor, and maple sugar adds extra warmth.
  • Spice: Add a pinch of nutmeg, cardamon, or allspice to bring a nice warmth to the sugar mix. Adjust it to your taste as you mix.
  • Fresh is Best: These bites are best enjoyed fresh from the oven. They lose their delightful crispness if they sit out too long.

How to Store Leftover Cinnamon Sugar Biscuit Bites

Once the cinnamon bites have cooled completely, place the leftovers in an airtight container. You can keep them at room temperature for a couple of days, which makes them perfect for grabbing as a quick snack.

If you want to keep them crispy, pop them back in the oven for a few minutes to warm up and rejuvenate that delightful crunch. This way, you can enjoy the sweet cinnamon goodness all over again!

What to Serve With Cinnamon Roll Bites

These cinnamon sugar biscuit bites are incredibly versatile, but my favorite thing to do is to serve them with a steaming cup of hot cocoa or coffee. The warm beverages complement the sweet, spicy flavors beautifully, making for a cozy, comforting treat. For an extra touch, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side if serving as a dessert.

  1. I learned to make these a different way: Make up one batch of baking powder biscuits. Roll it out in a rectangle and cut in to 1 to 1/2 inch squares (or use a very small cookie cutter or the center of a doughnut cutter). Spread out on a parchment lined cookie sheet/baking sheet and bake for about 8 minutes. Remove from oven and dip the miniature biscuits in melted butter/margarine, then in a mix of sugar and cinnamon (you can use either white or brown sugar for this and add some nutmeg if you wish. Return the mini biscuits to the oven and bake until the top starts to bubble up/melt. Serve warm but not hot.

    1. That sounds delicious, love your twist on it! Using biscuit dough and dipping them in butter and cinnamon sugar before the second bake sounds like a cozy treat. Thanks for sharing!
