Get the Oven Ready
Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) so it’s nice and hot when you’re ready to bake.
Mix Everything Up
Grab a 9×13” baking dish and add the rice, chicken broth, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, frozen veggies, salt, and pepper. Stir everything up to get all the flavors mixed through the rice.
Cover and Bake
Cover the dish tightly with foil and slide it into your preheated oven. Let it bake for 40 minutes so the rice can absorb all those amazing flavors.
Brown the Top
After 40 minutes, carefully take off the foil, but keep the oven on! Put the dish back in, uncovered, for another 5 minutes to let the top get a little golden and slightly crisp.

Rest and Fluff
Take the dish out of the oven and cover it loosely with foil. Let it rest for about 10 minutes to finish absorbing the moisture, then fluff the rice with a fork to separate the grains.
Garnish and Serve
Top it off with some fresh green onions for a bit of color and crunch, then serve it up with your favorite protein, or enjoy it as-is!

Notes
- Flavor Control: Using low-sodium broth keeps the salt in check, so you’re not overpowering the rice.
- Rice Texture: Fluffing the rice after resting is key—it keeps the grains separate and avoids any clumping.
- Garlic Boost: Fresh garlic is best here! It gives the rice a more vibrant, authentic flavor than powdered garlic.
- Fresh Veggies Work Too: If you prefer fresh veggies over frozen, just cut them small so they cook through.
- Soy Sauce Finish: A drizzle of soy sauce after baking can add a bit of extra richness.
- Protein Options: Add cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu if you want to make it a heartier main dish.
- Topping Ideas: A sprinkle of sesame seeds on top can add a nice crunch and boost the flavor.

How to Store Leftover Oven Baked Fried Rice
You can keep leftover baked fried rice in the fridge for up to three days, sealed in an airtight container.
And yes, it freezes well! Portion the rice into freezer-safe containers or bags and store it in the freezer for up to three months.
When you’re ready to eat, just reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave until it’s warmed through. A little splash of water or broth when reheating can help restore its original texture.

Baked fried rice is a true crowd-pleaser that can easily round out any meal!
Try it with sticky teriyaki chicken, some juicy grilled shrimp, or even crispy tofu for a complete, balanced plate. If you’re in the mood for more veggies, steamed broccoli or snap peas are perfect sides—they add fresh color and crunch.
You can also make it your own by adding toppings like sliced avocado, a fried egg, or extra green onions. And for a little extra zing, keep some sweet chili sauce or soy sauce on the table for drizzling!

This gets a 5 star rating for ease, simplicity and taste. It is delicious, my son said it tastes like Chinese restaurant fried rice and he’s right. I did add a little more soy sauce and sauted a chopped onion to add at the end but that’s personal taste.
To get your sons approval is wonderful! So glad you all enjoyed it.
OMG, incredibly delicious with minimal kitchen time! I used fresh chopped onions, shredded cabbage, thinly sliced carrots, & teriyaki marinated pork strips to complete the meal. Simply fabulous!
Sounds great and glad you enjoyed it!
